IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM HIGHWAYS ENGLAND: The second weekend closure to lift the steel beams into position is going ahead this weekend: 29 Jan – 1 Feb. They’ll close the M6 in both directions within junction 19. A two-lane up-and-over diversion will be in place at the junction. They’ll also be closing the A556 in both directions to allow diverted traffic to flow freely. On 29 and 31 Jan, they’ll also need to close the M6 carriageway in both directions between junctions 18 and 20, from 9pm to 6am.
Please plan your journey in advance and use alternative routes if possible. EXPECT LONG DELAYS. For further information including details of diversion routes, visit www.highwaysengland.co.uk/projects/m6-junction-19
Please note: the precise dates and times of the works may be subject to change due to weather conditions or other circumstances including the impact of COVID-19. Where possible, we’ll keep you updated of significant changes. Please note this bulletin does not include any emergency closures that could be required during this period.
