Cheshire West and Chester Council has recently commenced a public consultation reviewing the current control of dogs across the borough. The consultation is open until 4 July 2021.
I am aware that many of you have concerns about dog fouling and related issues and that you may wish to respond to the consultation and some of the questions are particularly relevant if your council owns or manages public land. In particular, you may wish to comment on the proposal to extend the requirement for dogs to be on a lead at all times to apply across all cemeteries rather than just those managed by the Council.
I have attached a small summary of the proposals – which includes a link to the consultation in full. The consultation can also be found by visiting the Cheshire West ad Chester ‘Participate Now’ website at: https://participatenow.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/dog-s-order-pspo-2021-2024-consultation
I am happy for you to circulate this as widely as you wish.
If it would be of assistance, I am also happy to attend a council meeting to discuss the issues raised with your members or to answer any questions you may have.
